Why did I choose Middlesex?
Middlesex was a program that had everything I was looking for. I choose it because it gave me the opportunity to become a complete physician who embodies the principles of Family Medicine. I wanted to be able to learn all of the skills possible to become the most well rounded provider I can be. I believe Middlesex will allow me to experience all aspects of medicine and personalize my practice.
About my track and future goals…
I have many interests and passions. My passion for hospice and palliative care initially came from working at the VA hospital and seeing patients so confused about their health and disease processes. I would like to learn to facilitate better transitions of care during a patient's health life. I hope to work in the community with nursing homes and community centers. I also have an interest in integrative medicine—I believe there are multiple methods for treatment, and there are treatments of eastern medicine that have been practiced for many years that have been unexplored in western medicine. Growing up with some of those philosophies and practices myself, I have always been curious to know their place in my medical journey.
When I’m not on call I’m…
Hiking, exercising, spending time with my husband, and traveling.
A fun fact or two about me…
I love to dance—I was trained in an Indian classical dance called Bharatnyatam. My first language was Gujarati. I am less than five feet tall. I can write backwards.
