Dr. Kumar grew up in Georgia in an Indian immigrant community and has a deep appreciation of the role of Family Physicians. She participated in our Global Health Track of Excellence, working abroad in both Guatemala and Rwanda and traveling to many other countries. She implemented a residency curriculum to prepare residents for work in underdeveloped communities. After graduation she participated in the prestigious University of California San Francisco Global Health Fellowship, working on a Native American reservation in Fort Defiance, Arizona and in a rural hospital in India. She then returned to Connecticut and entered practice in our community.
