Why did I choose Middlesex?

Beyond staying in my home state near friends and family, I chose Middlesex Health for my residency to receive well-rounded, hands-on training in full-spectrum family medicine. I felt that the community setting coupled with being the sole residency program would allow for the most learning and growth opportunities as a resident. I also wanted to explore Middlesex County for all the great food and access to hiking, fishing and fun in and around New Haven and the Connecticut shoreline.

About my track and future goals…

I envision myself as being a full-spectrum community-based family physician involved in population and preventative health at the neighborhood and town-level. I am looking forward to a combined track experience in Maternal-Child and Community Health to develop more expertise in addressing the needs of resource-constrained communities and vulnerable populations within them. I also have an interest in medical missions and would love to translate my community health experience into the global context.

When I’m not on call I’m…

Spending time with family and friends preferably in nature hiking, fly fishing, or hopefully cooking/eating something tasty.

A fun fact or two about me…

I come from a vibrant Cape Verdean/Nigerian background and love all the associated food, music and dance from each culture!
