Yarborough, Rashele, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Yarborough came to us with a passion for nurturing healthy children and families in underserved communities. Unsurprisingly, her Track of Excellence focused on Community Medicine. She transitioned her Ph.D. research on inner city school air quality into work on teen violence prevention, including service on the Connecticut Governor's Commission on Youth Violence. She also served as a mentor for black women entering careers in medicine. She was featured along with other prominent mentors in a recent public television documentary and book. After graduation she entered outpatient practice in a Connecticut Community Health Center, while maintaining her inpatient skills as a part-time Hospitalist.
