Sayer FunWhy did I choose Middlesex?

I remember leaving my interview day feeling incredibly excited about Family Medicine and my future career. I think it had to do with realizing there was a place I could train where I would learn from excellent teachers, have the opportunity and flexibility to shape my own education, and be supported wholeheartedly by the staff. So far Middlesex has continued to exceed my expectations, and I'm so happy I chose this program.

About my track and future goals...

I have always gravitated towards the older population, and I like the concept of helping people figure out how to live meaningful lives despite health issues they are experiencing. I'm also interested in expanding my knowledge of what Integrative Medicine can offer my patients (and me) in terms of healing and thriving.

When I'm not on call I'm...

Getting outside however I can (hiking, heading to the beach, milling around town), hanging out with my dog, trying out new restaurants, or spending time with family and friends.

A fun fact or two about me...

I worked at an aquarium in Bermuda for three months after I graduated college. I got really good at cleaning tanks and chopping up fish food! I also had the chance to train some seals and rehab some injured sea birds, as well as catch and tag turtles for one of the turtle conservation projects. My favorite fish was a grouper named Darth Vader who would follow you around while you cleaned his tank until you stopped and petted him (no joke). I can't eat grouper anymore!
