Why did I choose Middlesex?

I rotated at Middlesex as a fourth year medical student; from my first day I couldn't help but feel at home. The friendly atmosphere of the hospital was contagious!  I was searching for a small unopposed program, hopefully in Connecticut, with deep community roots.  I was intrigued by the 4 year curriculum which would provide the time to pursue my personal interests and continue my Osteopathic education.

About my track and future goals...

I have a strong interest in Integrative Medicine and Women's Health. I hope to personalize a track to incorporate these interests. Eventually I'd like to move back to a rural town and provided whole-spectrum care to the in which community I live.

When I'm not on call I'm...

Outdoors. I grew up in a rural town in Upstate New York so I feel most at home outdoors... hiking, biking, kayaking, gardening, skiing, snowmobiling. My belief is that sometimes the best medicine is a dose of sunshine.

A fun fact or two about me...

I've road tripped across the entire United States (New York to California and back), and I recently returned from a trip to Australia (note the koala picture).  I've been cliff-jumping, flown an airplane and ridden in a racecar.  My mentality is you should try everything once (except bungee-jumping).
