Domack CasualWhy did I choose Middlesex?

Connecticut has always been home and when I interviewed atMiddlesex, I knew it would be too! One of the things I love most is the very strong knowledge-sharing culture. There is always an incredible amount of knowledge shared on both a formal and informal basis daily, and always in a comfortable learning environment! Fellow residents and attendings always have stimulating cases they want to discuss it is a constant reminder of what a rewarding and inspiring career we picked!

About my track and future goals...

I am enrolled in the Academics & Leadership track, and am currently working on my Masters in Medical Education. I am a visual learner and am constantly inspired to find better ways to learn (& then teach!) complex topics in medicine by incorporating design and visual aesthetics into learning material. In the future, I plan to develop and incorporate visual imagery into both student and patient education in the office. I spent my elective blocks during my intern year developing a visually appealing educational resource guide for interns that focuses on inpatient medicine. An outpatient clinic survival guide is next!

When I'm not on call, I'm...

Playing with my camera and thinking of creative photoshoot ideas (inspire me!), photo editing, playing tennis, drinking lattes, finding the next best sushi spot with my husband (Rj), going out with friends in West Hartford Center...and of course, binging on Netflix!

A fun fact or two about me...

My dad is an astrophotographer and inspired my love of photography. My favorite movie director is Miyazaki (watch his movies!). My family is from Krakow, Poland and this is where I went to med school! This presented an incredible opportunity to travel throughout Europe. Some of my favorite adventures included living in Trastevere, Rome during a Pediatric rotation, hiking through the picturesque seaside villages of Cinque Terre, Italy; attending the Keukenhof Tulip Festival in Amsterdam, and road tripping to Munich to experience the biggest folk festival in the world Oktoberfest!
