A native of California, Dr. Bhukhen spent the first 8 years of her life in South Africa. She found her passion for caring for older adults during her training. She was chosen to be honored with the AFMRD scholarship award. After graduation she entered a Geriatrics Fellowship program at University of California, Davis.
