A Rhode Island native, Dr. Van Siclen initially pursued a career as a science teacher, first through the Peace Corps in Malawi and then at the McDuffie School in Massachusetts, before entering medical school. At Middlesex she continued her passion for caring for a community as a resident in Middletown, where she also lived and was heavily involved in community life. She participated in our Global Health Track of Excellence. After graduation she spent a year working in New Zealand before returning to Middletown, where she entered community practice providing outpatient and inpatient care.
