Williams, John, M.D., M.S.M.Ed.

Dr. Williams is originally from Shelton, Connecticut. After spending 8 years in Boston, Massachusetts for both his undergraduate studies and medical school, he decided to come back home to Connecticut and was a resident in our program. During his residency, he participated in our Academics and Leadership Track and completed a Masters in Medical Education.

After graduating, Dr. Williams worked at Middlesex Health Primary Care in Cromwell for 3 years while also precepting at the residency program before joining our full-time faculty. Dr. Williams is part of our health system's Physician Informatics team and is a certified Epic Physician Builder. His special interests include geriatrics and sports medicine. He partners with Dr. Acevedo in leading our medical student activities.

What I like best about working at Middlesex...

The people. Every day I am saying hi to so many wonderful people, who I have the pleasure of calling my colleagues and friends. Middlesex is a special place, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful organization.

My favorite thing to do with residents is...

I thoroughly enjoy conversations with the residents regarding their journey through residency, future career paths, and what they do for fun. It is so rewarding to see a resident grow into the physician and person they hope to be, and the fact that I can be a guide for them is an honor and privilege.

What I do for fun...

I love spending quality time with my wife, family, and friends. I am a huge sports fan, and in addition to watching all sports, I enjoy playing basketball and golf. I love watching great movies, reading a good book and trivia nights.
